What legal issues can the Service help with?

You can ring the Women’s Legal Service if you think that you have a legal problem or want to find out about your legal rights.

You can contact the Service about any legal issue, including:  
  • Family Law – what happens to the children following a separation  
  • property settlements including de facto and same sex relationships  
  • if you have experienced violence, abuse or threats –
what are your legal options
 
  • making a will  
  • medical treatment – your rights as a patient  
  • sex discrimination and sexual harassment  
  • your rights as a consumer  
  • owing money  
  • problems with neighbours  
  • if you have been charged with a crime  
  • if you have been the victim of a crime – your right to compensation
