The Working Women’s Centre Tasmania, a program run by Women’s Legal Service Tasmania in partnership with Worker Assist Tasmania, offers comprehensive support and education to prevent workplace sexual harassment and gendered violence across Tasmania.

  • Free, confidential legal advice 

  • Legal information 

  • Tailored referrals for support

  • Legal and non-legal options

  • Advocacy, support and representation at mediation, conciliation, tribunals, and courts.

We also deliver education for businesses and workers to promote safe, respectful, and inclusive workplaces, and develop industry-specific sexual harassment prevention and gender equality strategies.

Education and Training

We offer evidence-based education designed to create lasting workplace culture change through primary prevention approaches.

  • Access our six-episode series featuring conversations with workplace leaders and experts on preventing harassment, building psychological safety, and leading with a trauma-informed approach. Episodes are 15-20 minutes each and available free through podcast platforms and learning management systems.

  • Our 3-hour ‘Leading Safe and Respectful Workplaces’ workshop equips managers, supervisors, and HR professionals with practical skills to:

    • Respond confidently to disclosures and witnessed harassment

    • Build psychologically safe teams

    • Embed prevention in workplace systems

    • Support diverse employees with intersectional awareness

    Workshops use experiential learning, including role-play scenarios, case studies, and action planning, to develop real-world capability.
