Women’s Legal Service Tasmania acknowledges with deep respect that we live and work on the lands of the the Palawa and Pakana people of Lutruwita/Tasmania, whose ownership of the land has never been ceded. We pay our respects to elders past and present, and all those who continue caring for country, sharing stories and upholding rights and culture. We recognise the Palawa and Pakana culture as one of the world’s oldest continuous cultures. As allies, we welcome the ongoing dialogue towards treaty in respect of Lutruwita/Tasmania and the Australian continent to go some way to acknowledge and iright past wrongs.

We use the term ‘women’. In doing so, we want to be clear that our services are available to anyone who identifies as a woman, is non-binary, gender fluid, or anyone who has a gender experience that makes accessing support from a women’s service feel right for them. If you’re unsure whether our services are right for you, please reach out – we’re here to help. WLST is committed to providing a safe and inclusive space for all individuals, including those from LGBTQIA+ communities, culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and people with disabilities. We welcome anyone who aligns with our mission and needs support.

Women’s Legal Service Tasmania is committed to supporting, enhancing and upholding the safety, wellbeing and empowerment of children and young people. We want all children and young Tasmanians to be safe, happy and respected.
